About Us

The Kapadokya Team

Merhaba and Welcome to our beautiful little family owned and run Turkish Restaurant run by us, Amanda and Ismail!  You can find us situated down on Plymouth's historic Barbican. The restaurant itself is housed in a quirky restored 18th century former Inn up on the old cobbled street of New Street, reputedly Plymouth's oldest street.

Whilst I look after the day to day running of things it's Ismail who spends all of his time in the kitchen putting together the delicious home made offerings that feature on our extensive menu, dishes that are fit to adorn any Sultan's table!

We want our customers to not only enjoy our delicious food but also soak up the relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Special Belly Dance Evenings

Our restaurant is available for private events: weddings, business lunches, dinners, hen parties and more. We would love to discuss how to be a part of your next event.

Ask us about our special Belly Dance evenings with the beautiful Miss Belly Dance Uk, Ameera. Indulge in the full Middle Eastern experience when you dine with us on an Ameera Dance Night.

Honest home cooked food

We refuse to compromise on quality here at Kapadokya Restaurant, that's why we source our fresh ingredients from local suppliers, accentuated with only the finest traditional imported Turkish specialist herbs and spices.

All of our dishes are home made here on the premises, whether it be our stuffed vine leaves, filled and rolled  by hand, our keftedes meatballs made using only the finest lamb and beef mince or our delicious array of hot and cold meze dishes. Ismail prides himself on offering our customers only the best hearty, flavoursome traditional dishes using tried and tested generations of family recipes.

Our Turkish style Pide (flat bread) is lovingly made for us just down the road by Britain's oldest bakery, Jacka's.

If you have any dietary requirements please do not hesitate to ask us. We are only too happy to help!

Housed within a beautiful Tudor property in the heart of New street, the restaurant itself is full of character and charm. Step inside and feast your eyes on the beautiful, traditional Turkish decor which marries well with the building’s exposed beams and stonework. Successfully ran under the same management for many years, Kapadokya prides itself in serving authentic Turkish meals lovingly prepared by the passionate chef Ismail.

With a wealth of traditional recipes, Kapadokya’s menu combines a variety of meats, fish and vegetarian dishes that promise to satisfy and surprise. All of the dishes are completely homemade by their Turkish chef using, where possible, only the finest locally sourced ingredients. Their aim is to provide their diners with a true taste of the best Mediterranean food right here in Plymouth. The restaurant is open daily for lunches as well as dinners, we also recommend you take a look at their website for current deals and to see the full menu.

Apart from being a perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a family get together, Kapadokya is also an excellent spot for a delicious lunch or a catch up over coffee and cake. Their selection of hot drinks is truly sensational! From a traditional Turkish tea to salted caramel cappuccino, red velvet mocha latte and our absolute favourite – maple spice chai latte. Any of these would go particularly well with some traditional baklava, soaked in syrup, topped with chopped pistachios and served with yogurt and honey.

Great food, cute interior, nice service

We have visited Kapadokya numerous times and it is always great! The food is delicious, the interior is really cute and the staff are always pleasant and friendly. The Meze menu is variable and has a great selection to choose from! We've tried nearly everything now and it's all really tasty.
Cosy and comfortable, perfect for a chilled nice evening with good food with family or friends!

After being taken aback by the sheer size of the portions (which is always a positive), you’ll be tucking in to a meal which really gives you a taste of Turkey. If you’re lucky, you might even get to see a performance from some exotic belly-dancers.
